The UGA Working Papers in Linguistics is an annual publication of the Linguistics Society at UGA (LSUGA). All UGA-affiliated students and faculty who have presented original research in at least one of the following forums in the previous academic year are eligible to submit an article for consideration:
- The Linguistics Conference at UGA (LCUGA) – an annual interdisciplinary conference in linguistics, which has featured presentations by linguists from UGA, as well as around the U.S. and abroad. In recent years, LCUGA has featured a separate volume of Conference Proceedings.
- LSUGA Tiny Talks – a semi-annual graduate-student-only event in which students are invited to present their research and receive feedback from peers.
- Linguistics Program Colloquium – a weekly colloquium held during the Spring semesterin which UGA faculty and students present original research.
Publication in the Papers does not preclude publication by other journals or outlets; all rights remain with the author(s). Each submission to the Papers is reviewed by professors familiar with the article’s respective area of study, who advise on revisions and acceptance. Many thanks go to LSUGA’s faculty advisor, and the director of the Linguistics program, Dr. Keith Langston, who graciously assisted the editors in matching submissions to potential reviewers. This volume has greatly benefited from the careful reading and subsequent generous feedback provided by our reviewers (listed below). We sincerely thank them for their time and invaluable contribution to the Papers.
