The Department of Linguistics held a Final Project Poster Conference on December 4th, 2019 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm at the Georgia Center. Students from our Field Methods, Natural Language Processing, and Text & Corpus classes presented their final project posters.

University of Georgia Linguistics Faculty and Graduate Students will be presenting at the 178th Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America, in San Diego, California, December 2-6, 2019.

Two former UGA Linguistics graduate students, Ryan Hearn,M.A.'14 and Joseph Rhyne,M.A.'17 were recently credited with creating an alien language Torfan for the "Captain Marvel" film released this year.

Dr. John Hale presented a poster on "Text Genre & Training Data Size in Human-Like Parsing" along with Adhiguna Kuncoro (DeepMind & Oxford), Keith B.
